Once you get in the Siam Thai Cuisine door in Ayala’s New Terraces, you’ll see all the obvious similarities it has with Krua Thai restaurant in SM Cebu City – mainly the water goblets and the menu. The moment we got in, we concluded they’re owned by the same person. It’s probably a sister restaurant or something, but why change the name at all? I mean Krua Thai has probably earned its reputation by now. Why risk using a new name?

Anyway – so as expected (based on my experience at Krua Thai, which I plan post later), the food was rich, delicious and terrific! Real Thai food cooking. I’m not sure about the price though. I think it’s almost the same. They have the same list of specialties. Appetizers cost around a hundred twenty plus each (in pesos), but these can be eaten as main dishes, too. Their main dishes cost around PhP180-250, which are good for two people. For two, you may need to set a budget of around PhP500-600 if you’re planning on a full meal.

Some of my favorites are the spicy prawn, tom yam soup, but my husband likes the four seasons vegetables and all spicy stuff they have. What I like most about the food in Krua and Siam Thai is the touch of smooth tamarind taste with the wonderful aroma and taste of herbs and lemon grass, which I think they use on almost all their dishes.

Generally, the food and service were both good, our expectations were met. However, the price is definitely not for a regular day meal. Also, there was just one little tiny thing that was not fitting – while we were eating, the music playing on the background was… Copacabana! Maybe somebody from Siam Thai could check that out. :)
